Manipulating (My Own) Psychology For Fun and Behaviour Change
Are we what we repeatedly do? My day to day life dictates a lot of what I do but doesn’t necessarily dictate how I experience it. A more holistic wording would be “We are what we repeatedly experience” this allows for the personal interpretation of events. 2 people going through the same events can have wildly different outlooks on life due to their interpretations.
If we take it as we are what we repeatedly experience there are now 2 clear things that affect our lives. What we do and how we interpret what we do. Sadly my education in fields that help you understand these sorts of things is lacking. It wasn’t until reading Poor Charlie’s Almanack that I even considered the benefits of learning about Psychology. Even then I am only implementing its use after my 3rd or 4th time rereading it (I really think it’s a good book).
I am going to attempt to use the psychological tendencies outlined in Poor Charlie’s Almanack to create Lollapalooza effects on my habits and my interpretation of them.
